On two other forums I frequent, they have a button/link that gives you a list of threads in which you posted and there are new replies. It's listed as either "Show new replies to your posts" or "Responses to my posts"

This makes my life much easier on the other forums, since I can quickly access threads to which I had enough interest in to post in, and not have to scan ALL the titles threadwise.

Seems this forum should have the same function, since "ALT+S" works.

How is this any different than the MyFlyertalk feature we already have?

If you haven't set up "My FlyerTalk", I encourage you to do so. It is a great way to see your messages and to quickly scan the forums of specific interest to you. See Canarsie's terrific thread on how to do so.

Because MyFlyertalk just lists ALL the threads and forums you've subscribed to, AND you have to add those to your list yourself.

With the feature I'm talking about, as soon as there's a new post in a specific thread that you posted in, it will automatically be on the list. Also, when you've read it and refresh the list, it will update immediately and that thread you just read will not be on the list anymore. Additionally, it will stay on the list until you read it or mark it as "read"... there's no timing out like MyFlyertalk.

I find it more convenient than MyFlyertalk, as it allows you to quick access replies to your posting without having to search them out (with how quickly some forums/threads go in FT, your stuff can get buried pretty fast).

Believe me, most of you won't regret it. The only downside is that it will continue to list the new replies to your posts even if you've lost interest in them (no way to stop the listing)... but threads eventually die off anyway.

I say, please add the feature.. and if one doesn't use it, then oh well ^

I read it... trust me, the Show New Replies button is faster.

If you don't manually subscribe to any threads yourself, MyFlyertalk does exactly what you're talking about. As soon as there's a new post in a specific thread I've posted in, e.g., this one, it will automatically be on MyFlyertalk. When I've read it, it will be unbolded from MyFlyertalk. The next time I log in to MyFlyertalk or click on the MyFlyertalk button, a new list pops up with all the threads that have I have replied to that have replies.

Well gosh darn it (censor filter is ON ) I guess I'll see if I can fix my own problem. Thanks for the heads up ^

Ok, so I tried it out. First, I had to play with my FT preferences to set auto subscriptions to "No email notification" (was on "Do not subscribe").

2ndly, it's not exactly what I was talking about... while this just unbolds the threads you've visited, my suggestion completely eliminates the thread from your list until a new reply is posted. It also only eliminates it if you've actually visited the thread, so it will stay on without timing out.

Oh well, gotta make due. Thanks for the advice though.... still made my FT experience better ^

MyFlyertalk does that as well. For a few minutes after you view a thread it might still show up but later on it will not show up. Also make sure you're not viewing a cached page.

No no no... it's not the same. Let's say there's a thread that has a new reply. Sometimes I don't have time to read it and all the other threads... on the other forums, that thread will stay in my list until I read it... even if it's forever. On FT, that new post will disappear when I log in again.

I'm a forum owner myself but do not believe I have this on my own forum. Could you post a link to those other forums? It would be interesting to see what software they run.
