Case by case would be best. I joined in 2003 and I know another who joined in 2001 way before the 100 post minimum. This is a major alteration since I joined. I mainly need 100 posts to get back into SPAM where I have gotten a great deal of help with My Points and Gold Points.

Omni and Coupon Connection hold no allure for me since I have nothing oddball to say or anything of value to trade.

I certainly hope we do not go to a case-by-case basis. I pity the person/people that get assigned that task to take those decisions. Can you imagine the outrage by certain members when rights are not approved? GEEZ... bad enough when a moderator edits a post, closes a thread, or bans a user.

I am for a length of time and post minimum before someone gets total rights... recent action indicates we have a problem here.

Perhaps we just grandfather current members who dont have the "time in service".

I have to echo this sentiment. Even though it's something I want, I know from past experience as a moderator that it frequently is a lose-lose situation. (Something about you can't please all of the people all of the time)

That would seem more fair. If there is a 100 post/2 mo. limit when someone joins, that should be their threshhold. If the bar is later raised to 3, 4, 5, 6 mo. ... they should have whatever was in effect when they joined.

Just a word of caution however ... don't make the bar too high or some folks will just feel it's not worth the bother and take themselves (and their valuable contributions) elsewhere.

It's a delicate balancing act that will be hard to implement in any case.

just out of curiousity, is there a way to implement that in the system? or would that require human/moderator intervention?

It is just a saying from a coworker at a previous job. I had dyed my hair red the week before he said it. He was just teasing me.

Unhappy Nevermind Omni and Coupon Connection ... what about SPAM?

One frustration for me as a "n00b" is that I am blocked from SPAM ... and it's the only place where 2 of my favorite (and much used) programs MyPoints and eRewards are discussed.

I have much to say and contribute to on this topic however am blocked by the "100" rule. Shouldn't there be a MyPoints and eRewards section under "Other Programs" rather than linking it into SPAM ... or am I missing the obvious here?

In any event, I'm effectively muzzled until I reach 100.

Exclamation

Unfortunately, some members of this board keep on "marathon posting" LONG after they reach 100 posts.

You are missing the obvious.

There was a lot of problem with that forum with folks piling into it to start and join free IPOD type conga lines etc, and add or contribute nothing else to FT.

Randy said in broad terms that was not why he set up FT. I guess there are many dozens of other Forums you can add some useful input to, to get to the 100 posts - and I see you are not far away.
