Lightbulb airport code lookup on every page

Hello. Could we get the Airport code lookup tool to be included in the blue tool bar at the top of each page? This seems to me to be one of the more important tools people need when reading and researching on FlyerTalk yet you have to go right back to the opening page to reference it.
Come on , this site is about flying. If "open Buddy list" is important enough to be in the tool bar at the top of every page , then IMHO so is the Airport code lookup feature! Thanks for listening.

Your request has already been implemented into FlyerTalk even before you asked about it. In other words, it already exists.
  1. Simply go to the blue toolbar at the top and choose Quick Links.
  2. In the Miscellaneous section in the resulting pop-up menu, you will find Airport Code Lookup, which is the second option from the bottom.
  3. Choose that to either look up the official airport code of a known airport, or enter the airport code to find out which airport or city that airport code represents.

question

Hello. The word "quick links" is not present in the blue tool bar at the top of my page. I have : Myflyertalk, FAQ, calendars search, new posts, mark forums read, open buddy list and lastly log out.
Am I missing something? Thanks for the reply.

I'm

For me Quick Links always appears between Search and Log Out (top blue bar towards the right).

Just checked both frames and no frames view and it looks the same to me. Doesnt seem to be any setting in MyFT options that would switch it off?

Some of the items you mention are in the Quick Links list (airport code lookup being below all these and some others in the pulldown).

Sorry I am just not seeing what you see.

Open a 2nd window.

I did that until I realized Quicks Links was in the tool bar. It was a bit awkward, but it worked.

Well, what do you know? It sure doesn't show up in IE on a Mac.

I'll see if I can find a fix over at the vB site. Thanks for the heads-up on that.

UPDATE:

It's a compatibility issue. Mac's IE doesn't like the CSS that vB uses. The drop-down menus that vB uses (the Quick Links, and Search, for example) either don't show up (Quick Links) or aren't displayed as a drop-down, only as a regular link (Search).

Since you're using Mac OSX, is there a reason why you're still using IE? Microsoft no longer supports it, and Safari seems better at compliancy.

...and to think, I am using both Macintosh OS X with either Safari or Netscape 7, or Macintosh System 9 using Netscape 7. Sometimes (but rarely) I use Windows XP with either Netscape 7 or Internet Explorer.

I virtually never use Internet Explorer on a Macintosh computer if I can help it. No wonder I have never experienced tattikat2s problem! One learns something new every day.

Anyway, tattikat2, thank you for introducing an issue about which no one on FlyerTalk knew. This proves that it does not hurt to ask questions.

Let us know what you think of the Airport Code Lookup tool, tattikat2. Hopefully now you can enjoy FlyerTalk to its fullest.

Wow- I didn't even know that was there, and just a couple of days ago I had to go through Google to find a site with those codes (to answer a question on PriorityPass locations).

Someday I gotta read the FAQs.
