FlyerTalk Singles
Yes! Nothing better to do during an extended business trip than to hookup for dinner and drinks with fellow FlyerTalkers

Not sure I understand the suggestion....
Are you asking for a Singles Forum?
People currently post and get together in Community.
Just wondering.

I shouldnt have mentioned the hookup for drinks and dinner, but I envision it to be more of a singles forum, for people to post their personals.

A few people have tried this in Community before... at least a version of it.
A get together for people of a certain age or gender.
Those posts have quickly gotten squashed. It has been made clear that Flyertalk is for get togethers of all people and no exclusion is to be expected.
Even a "GLBT Travelers get together" was posted in the Community forum for all to attend.
I have a feeling Randy does not want to have a Personals section of Flyertalk. There are so many different internet sites that can provide that service.
Of course, you could also post your request in the TalkBoard forum and ask the TB to consider your request.

I think it would be a good idea to try a forum which was focused on single/solo travel. For example, if someone found a tour or cruise operator that was particularly good (and priced accordingly) for someone travelling alone, they could share that. Also, if someone had a bad experience at a particular place because they were travelling alone (for example if a restaurant frowned on or delayed in seating a single patron), that would be useful information.
Realistically, I suspect volume on such a forum might be low.
Whether it might also be used to find a travel partner or group, I don't have an opinion. But I agree that it would not be a good use of resources to create a dating service.

I do think the idea, presented the way TRRed, could be helpful.
But, I would say, that anyone could post that they were looking for someone to travel with them on the board now. Especially if presented as "I want to save money and not pay the cruise/tour single supplemental charge".

isn't biz tvl...
Isn't business travel for the married person 'usually' still single or solo travel...?? I mean if you are on a trip alone.. you would be the single or solo traveler who would tour a site alone, be that single seated patron all the time etc..
