Region-specific forums?

I wonder if it is possible and if there is enough interest to form forums for specific regions/countries. I'm not recommending having forums carried out in a foreign language (like we had in MilesBuzz recently) but one that would address FF programs, credit cards, for the many expatriates living in that region, in addition to those interested in the region/country. I think FTers might benefit from/and or be interested in hearing how things are in other regions, especially if they are planning trips to those regions/countries.

For example, Japanese credit cards, including many mileage-earning cards, can be expensive for the gold/plat, with very weak rewards or perks in comparison to U.S.-based cards. No CDW coverage, period, for example. On the other hand, I have a Japanese credit card that automatically gives $200,000 life, medical and theft coverage for overseas travel for the cardholder and cardholder's family (in addition to the points & awards)for just the $10 yearly fee of having the card. You don't even have to use the card to buy the airfare, just have the card. This is a great deal as I was paying, at a minimum, $50 per person for travel insurance on overseas trips before I discovered this card.

Most non-Japanese major airlines (such as NW and UA) have English pages for there Japanese websites, not to mention the Japanese airlines (such as ANA and JAL) that have English pages as well, because there is a large well-traveled foreign community in Japan. I've found that making use of these English websites have given me more opportunities to earn and use miles in addition to what is available on the Stateside versions.

As you can probably tell, I have a specific interest in seeing the formation a forum dealing with travel and travel-related issues in and between Japan and other countries, as I presently live in Japan.

Any comments?
