'Lock' Icon Idea?

I hope that this is a constructive suggestion.

For topics that are locked because of content problems- use LOCK icon

For topics that that are locked because of
wrong forum/move to different forum- how about using a different icon (like moving truck??!)

For topics in CC that are locked due to successful transactions- how about using a different icon (like a dollar sign?)

I think more relevant icons would make it easier for everyone to understand the INTENT behind the locked threads, since the 'lock' icon implies something bad.

I think that's a brilliant suggestion. Of course, I don't have to do the programming - but it would make it much simpler as a user to follow the moderation.

If it were possible, we sure would have done it by now. But it's more of a technology issue - not available - than us not acknowledging it. Just for your information: less than a tenth of one percent of average threads daily are moved {locked}. It sometimes helps to put these things in perspective.

But, i think you'd agree that this thread doesn't belong here. It belongs in "Suggestions". I don't mind helping so will move it there.

We had looked at this before but worry that created new code outside of the current technology engine for FT might cause other things to crash. It's the volume of traffic on an average day on FT that make some of these things unavailable since they would cause greater laod time. We've tried to keep things lean so your use time is fast.
