Misposted threads = Forgotten threads

Not quite sure where this post belongs (perhaps in Misposted Threads? ) but thought this would be as good a place as any.

Misposted threads is described as a forum to temporarily hold posts that are misposted until we can properly relocate them

Instead, however, it seems that once threads go into Misposted Threads, they never come out. A brief scan showed over 100 posts being abandoned there, some as much as two months old.

While the threads may have been misposted initially, they represent time and effort of posters, so it's a shame to relegate them to this purgatory indefinitely. Most appear to be relevant to the subject matter on Flyertalk, if not to any specific board. By default, anything that doesn't belong on any specific board should to to Omni.

Just wanted to flag the issue and hear what the solution is.

Thanks

Matthew, I think you'll find that most of the posts which remain on the Isle of Misfit Posts have actually been copied manually to FT-Travel or another of the boards. They just don't delete them in Misfit posts after copying them.

If you search for them in TravelBuzz, OMNI, or whereever you suspect they've been moved, you can find them.

The real reason. Some of them were viewed as very important and i was worried that by moving them manually we would get too much flack since we lose the poster profiles and ability to count posts and reply email addresses. We've been working on a board fix and as was announced a few days ago am now able to move them all to their correct places and keep all the details in place. I think and hope you can appareciate that we left them there for a reason and within the next few weeks won't have anything left in there and the forum will go away.
