Every other day guy

Since I am not able to check FT everyday. I would like for you to add a link to all of the posts that have been active since I last visited. You seem to know when I last was here, so I think you would be able to link me to what sites have been active since then.

I would also like to have the option of an email sent to me when a reply has been posted to something that I replied to (i.e. send an email to not only the original post author, but have an option for people to check when other comments are posted). Sometimes I want to keep current of certain posts and I can't do that since I can't check the site daily.

Good suggestions ChrisMoss7. I'll look into it and see what we can do.

Since I am not able to check FT everyday....
I'll repeat what I said in the previous thread on this topic. I'd really like to see something analogous to "see topics from today", but for the last 2, 3, 4, 5, days, etc. This has got to be computationally cheaper than providing people with a list of the topics which have changed since they specifically last logged on. The last-logon method also has the problem that if I "log on" and then have to interrupt my session, the next time I access FlyerTalk, it won't know which thread I didn't view.

rec.travel.air doesn't have nearly as congenial a crowd as FT, but my Usenet news reader can show me exactly all the new postings which I haven't read, which is a lot more convenient than FT is now. However, since FT is Web-based, it would have to do a lot of housekeeping to be able to track which postings I have and haven't seen, whereas in the case of a Usenet news reader, it's my news reader that does the housekeeping, which is a lot more scalable than having the server do it....

I also miss some usenet news readers features.

Also, I saw another UBB based site (forum.dvdtalk.com) quite similar to FlyerTalk, but they also list the multiple pages right up front, so you can go directly to say page 3 bypassing page 1.
