new forums?

Now that FlyerTalk is a resounding success, (thanks and "well done!" to all at WebFlyer) with an exponentially growing group of contributers, I would respectfully request that we add some new forums, in order to reduce the clamour in The Buzz and to restore cohesion to the threads:

Star Alliance
oneworld
Catman's car rental forums

and possibly:
Itineraries
Trip reports
(because we do like them..)
'other' airlines
(not every ff can fly with their favourite airline all the time, and having a forum like this would allow the webmaster to consolidate all of the airlines which have each had, say, less than 20 posts during the last 100 days - this could be split into African, Asian, European and North and South American forums to keep things neat)
Aircraft info
(for those who love the 777's 'bullfrog' engines...)

FOUR PAWS UP FOR ALL THESE SUGGESTIONS!!!

Or we can combine the alliances into one ALLIANCES FORUM. Because CO will proably start one and eventually Sir Richard and SouthWorst!

Agreed!!!
But, CATMAN, shouldn't it have been EIGHT paws up?
A single thread for "Alliances" might be a good idea, at least to start. If it gets too full, then there might be a spin-off to specific alliances later.

pleeeeeeeease can we have forums for oneworld and Star Alliance... posts about the alliances are really fragmented at the moment.

Thank you!

baobab: I checked with Michael, and he said the alliance forums could be up as soon as today. Failing that, they should be up tomorrow. It's good to have someone to keep us on our toes.

I have noticed that airlines like Frontier Airlines do not have their own forum.

Perhaps a grouping of "other airines" by region would be great (that is, if they don't deserve their own forum due to lack of interest)

Let me take your idea one step further Steve100: how about OTHER DOMESTIC CARRIERS and OTHER International Carriers (as well as OTHER HOTEL PROGRAMS) even those without ff programs.

This way we can keep the smaller programs and providers in ONE section instead of creating more forums and overloading the system.

Just my two cat hairs worth!

Great idea. I would like to hear about any experiences with the new National airlines (based in Las Vegas). I don't think they will have a FF program to start.

CatMan: as this seems to be an international board, the definiton of domestic could be difficult ... (even in tiny little Switzerland we have one "domestic" airline flying only Zurich-Lugano ...).

That's an excellent point Rudi.

So May I suggest: Other U-S airlines and OTHER Overseas airlines? Maybe that will work better.

Basing this on fact Inside Flyer is based in the U-S (in Colorado.)
