Elite catagories for FlyerTalkers

A few of you have mentioned this before (and this is an out there suggestion) but what about elite levels for FlyerTalker contributors. Based either on number of postings, time on the boards or value of the postings/suggestions made.

Names could be based on Metals, airlines,
Royal rankings.

It could be something like: Rudi would be considered "LIFETIME Platnium" while CATMAN's
"Uranium" or something like that. CATMAN

Still trying to get status, huh? Catnip Gold would be a good category for the Cat. I was going to suggest Pluto-nium, but....you know....

Above the Gulfstream V should be the new Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) or the Airbus rival Airbus Corporate Jet for you Airbus fans!

Boy, talk about people with too much time on their hands

Seriously, I don't know if we should be encouraging people to post for the sake of posting to hit some "elite level" It could lead to lots of noise.

We're all beyond that sort of questionable action just to achieve higher elite status on something.

NJDavid ~ Sure we are ... all those who have taken three segments instead of two (or two instead of one) just to get the extra segment/miles raise your hand ... *hand raised*

beckles: Hand raised. But I like timchen's idea, if we do anything at all - and I'm not sure there's a point. Unless, of course, FF is going to give all 767's and above free subscriptions and all other participants MILES for their postings.

How could you forget Concorde, timchen?

At the moment there is a division between 'junior members' and 'members' - the dividing line being 30 posts.

If we're intent on having 'elite status' for senior Flyer-Talkers, perhaps we could have 'qualifying posts' - two to five other flyertalkers would have to confirm that the post is worthwhile (some sort of checkbox/voting system), and OMNI posts certainly wouldn't qualify..

I do like the idea of recognising valuable contributers like Rudi and Catman - without them this board wouldn't be the pleasant and illuminating place that it is.

baobab

stars... I like the idea of five-star posts...

Ahhh. The Concorde! I forgot about the concorde. How can I forget the Concorde?

But the Gulfstream is the idea of "independence" and higher recognition- You OWN your own plane.
