ignore/don't display thread button?

ignore/don't display thread button?
I'm not sure if this is a rare form of viewing FT - but after I login I simply hit the New Posts button and then browse the 20 pages to look for any threads of interest. I then hit Quick Links/Mark Forums Read. I then go to DL forum and see what threads are on the top 1 or 2 pages.
Here's a suggestion I'd like: An option to click on a 'ignore/don't display' button along perhaps the left side of the screen that lists new threads. When I hit 'ignore/don't display' thread it gets added to my list of those types of threads in my profile (much like email subscribing).
Next time I hit New Posts - any threads that are marked as ignore/don't display will not be listed anymore.
