Suggested: [member] tag for vB-code
There is no easy way to link to a member's profile, and since the member list is now off-limits, the only way to get to a member's profile is to find a post by that member and click through (or to manually enter the URL).
On FT we have the convention of bolding a member's name. Why not also make that automatically link to that member's profile?
For ease of use, I would recommend using an [m] tag rather than just [member], because it would be much faster and hence more people would likely use it.
The implementation of [m] (or [member]) would simply wrap some bold tags around the name and also link it to the member profile, which is now very easy to do because of the SEO-friendly plugin that FT has been using for the past year or two... member profile URLs are now entirely SEO-friendly and thus very easy to implement in vB-code.
What say you?
