Huh? Facebook has likes. Does that make it not contentious?

OMNI P/R is already contentious with some topics. Adding likes would only serve to add to it.

Usually, your audience on Facebook is your friends, and usually, friends respect each other enough to keep discussion civil.

This is one area I'll agree with @kipper on. ;) That said, while I support keeping post likes turned off in OMNI/PR, I think there's no reason it shouldn't be on in regular OMNI or OMNI/Games. There's a thread about Costco that I follow and am always looking for the Like button in before realizing it's in OMNI.

Thanks to IB implementing like (which I think is stoo-pid & sorry jackal yes I am up on things on different bulletin boards so not a dinosaur), I implemented something IB doesn't like (pun intended :p :D) & haven't had to look at likes since like (and the last crap software 'enhancement') got implemented. So much happier now, even if IB isn't. Too bad, so sad (for IB).

FWIW - I'm sorry, but if you're going to implement like, then implement it across the board. If it can't be implemented across every forum, then it shouldn't be implemented at all IMO.

Well I find that "like" works 50% of the time - mostly when I click on it it doesn't work :(

I disagree that it needs to be across the board (although I think "like" on P/R might actually be worth it for the lolz), but they still haven't taken the feedback that pretty much EVERYONE agreed on which is the current location of the like link looks horrible, and would really be better off below the signature or in-line with the action buttons. If they're not even going to fix that, they're probably not going to fix anything bigger for a good long while if at all.

It is interesting to compare the like (upvote) button prognostications with what has actually transpired.

The term "like" is too common to be used as a search term, which is why I added the parenthetical in the preceeding sentence. (!)
