10 night suite award qualification

Can someone clarify?. If I achieve 50 nights prior to Aug 1 in SPG program will I have the option of 10 night suite awards, but if I achieve after Aug 1, I will only receive 5?

27th July to be precise. It's been discussed elsewhere.

I posted this yesterday, "If you earn SNA's in advance of August, you will receive them. After August, if you achieve other night milestones, you will have the option to choose additional SNA's"

By my reckoning, some may be able to collect as many as 15 total.

Hypothetically, would one want to cross the 75 night threshold AFTER august 1st to do that - I assume so, yes?

I’m still a bit unsure of the response, so let me be more specific. I may achieve 50 nights prior to July 27, in which case I am entitled to select 10 sna’s. But if I achieve 50 nights after August, Will I be under new rules and only receive 5 sna’s?

I didn’t see this first but just posted about this in the main WIKI thread. Maybe Marriott will give the extra 5 to all members who hit 75 nights?

Yes, two different programs at play. Prior to 8/1 the current plan gets you 10 SNAs at 50 nights. The new program only gets you 5 at 50 nights. Suspicion is, according to Lurker's post, should you hit 75 nights before the end of the year you might get another 5 nights. If you can do the 50 nights before 8/1 AND you expect to do more than 75 nights, then you can snag 15 nights. Some find SNAs to be valuable, some don't, YMMV.

To take this thread in a slightly different direction (because I think it's clear that if we hit 50 prior to Aug 1 we're entitled to 10 SNA's and if we hit 75 after Aug 1 we're entitled to 5 more), I'm more concerned about the alternative to SNA gift option at 75 nights--do we have any definitive clarity on that reward?

More specifically, I don't value SNA's very much (I'm a lifetime MR Plat and this is my very first/last year doing SPG, but from what I've read, lots of folks have trouble cashing SNA's in, and since I'll probably only take one additional vaca this year where they're of value to me, if I can't confirm the SNA's, I'd rather just take the bird-in-the-hand free Cat 1-5 night at 50 nights).

So my question is this: if I take the 1 free Cat 1-5 night at 50 nights, might one of the alternative gift options at 75 nights earned (after Aug 1) be an additional Cat 1-5 night?

And yes, I have asked this same question in another thread but haven't received a definitive response there so thought I'd try this one. So sue me.

please clarify the July 27 cutoff. If there is a stay that posts after 7/27 but before 8/1 that takes you over 75 nights is the 5 SNA option off the table?

Yes. I think that is the only way that could happen.

Can someone clue me in on the importance of July 27th?

The combined program begins in early August. It may not necessarily be August 1st, so I am curious about the importance of that date as well since no absolute date in August is mentioned in anything published and available to the public.

Before the programs are merged (no date), one can pick up 10 SNA's by completing 50 nights in SPG. After the programs are merged (no date), one might also pick up another 5 by reaching 75 nights in SPG.

July 27 is the deadline to select the SPG50 benefit per the emails received when members achieve(d) the 50 night threshold this year.
