Annual 30K purchase + household transfer limit... is it really enforced?

I'm trying to make an aspirational redemption for next year and and had my family members (all same address) transferr 20K, 42K, 27K from their respective accounts late last week. When the transfers were submitted, I didn't know of the 30K limit and just found out about it this morning. All 3 transfers were submitted minutes from each other, and today only the 20K has posted. I have made no other transfers or purchases in 2016. Is the 30K limit really being enforced in practice? If so, I've only received 20K transferred points. What will happen now? Will I receive 10K from one of the other members? Or will their transfers be rejected for going over the 10K remaining? What will happen if I try purchasing points?

Yes it is enforced. Most likely the other points will stay in limbo. Some will post in 2017 up to the limit, etc.

Per the Lurkers, household transfers are excluded from the annual transfer limits. I asked about a specific hypothetical scenario and William refused to comment on it. However, seeing as how this is pretty much the exact scenario and no longer a hypothetical, maybe you would like to PM him to comment in this thread so we can get a definitive answer?

Either way, it would be good if you came back and commented in here or in the above thread with your results.

Was looking at xferring some 40+K points from a family member (1 person same address).
Under the heading "See all Terms & Conditions" there is no mention of such limit. Could it be, that OPs xfer request from multiple persons might have triggered such a limit?

Trying to transfer 90k Starwood points to my wife so she can get a SWA CP for our son. I can't travel as much with the two of them, but will help her on trips to see the in-laws. Now I come to find Starwood changed the household transfer rules to limit transfers to 30k a year.

Does anyone know of a work around? I'm SPG Gold.

Couldn't you do Starwood Account A > Marriott Account A > Marriott Account B > Starwood Account B?

Can I ask why you think there is a 30K yearly limit on Member to Member transfers?

LOL. Well, we don't have that rule in place for Member to Member transfers, so maybe.

My apologies if you were misinformed, but it is possible that whoever this was confused buying Starpoints for your account with transferring Starpoints from your account or made an assumption there was the same limit where they should not have.

There is no such yearly limit on Member to Member transfers as DaveInLA found out earlier in this thread.
