I think the reason some people, including me, are a little confused about this is that the T&C does not say anything about checking-in before or checking-out after. However the Q&A that explains it is still vague:
If I check in before the Promotion Period begins or check out after the Promotion Period ends, but some of my stay is in the Promotion Period, does my stay earn the bonus?

Yes, as long as one night of the eligible stay is within the Promotion Period, bonus Starpoints will be earned (even if part of the stay falls outside the Promotion Period).
It does not explicitly say only the nights during the promotion period will earn the bonus, it says "even if part of the stay falls outside the Promotion Period" and it uses the word "Stay" in the question (bolding mine).

The logical thinking is that only nights during the promotion period are counted for this bonus but it seems the Q&A leaves room for it to mean something else?

It could go either way, but I believe the precedent from recent promotions is that you would earn for every night of the stay.

So, if I check in on Saturday 5/7 and check out on Friday 5/13, do I:

1 - get double or triple for all nights and get the 1,000 weekend bonus? Or
2 - get double or triple for the nights within the promotion period (and since 5/7 is not within the promotion period, no 1,000 either)

Thanks.
Hi username,

In this scenario, you will get double or triple bonus Starpoints as well as 1,000 weekend bonus Starpoints if the stay meets the promotion terms and conditions.

Hi Christina,

Thank you.

To take that one step further... since the week of 5/1 currently has no bonus...

If I check into a Sheraton on 5/1 and check out on 5/13, would every night be tripled + I get the 1,000 bonus points for the weekend?

Thanks.

I ask myself, "How is it that all is required is either a Friday or Saturday (Thursday or Friday in the Middle East) to be included and yet a booking that has both would not be eligible?" And, I am at a loss for words to explain why anyone would think it wouldn't be.

Interesting question. It seems a generous interpretation of the ambiguity in the T&Cs and FAQs to award the 1,000 weekend night bonus when the weekend night itself doesn't fall within the promo period.

So, just to be clear, the promo starts on Mon 9 May, and a 3-night stay checking in on Sat 7 May and checking out on Tue 10 May would earn the 1,000 weekend-night bonus. Correct ?

It would seem so, provided all the other tenets of the offer are met.

And also every night will be doubled (at most brands) or tripled (at Sheraton)! Now if one checks in today and checks out on 5/10 ...

If I book 3 rooms, pay, and stay in one of them - fulfilling an eligible stay,

Will I get triple and 1000 points for each room? (As we earn stay credit for up to 3 rooms)

I thought I was going to capitalise on an upcoming stay at Sheraton LADT, but then I saw the promo started on the 9th, so I moved my stay to Westin Pasadena. Maybe next month.
