Hyatt offering status match to SPG Gold and Platinums

According to several sources Hyatt is matching SPG gold and plats to Hyatt diamond. Taking a move out of the AA playbook when UA/CO merged and there were lots of disgruntled elites for the taking. Good through 2/17 and includes diamond upgrades (confirmable at booking and each one good for an entire stay).

Supposedly you have to reach out to the hyatt concierge on twitter. I've sent a message with my account info but haven't heard back.

Seem Hyatt will be the last good program left once Marriott has its way with Starwood. That's my guess, anyway, hard to imagine Marriott would start the benefits extravaganza involved in giving all their members current SPG benefits (guaranteed 4pm checkout? suite upgrades? dream on!).

FYI, it looks like they are no longer matching SPG Gold based on some reports over on the Hyatt forum.

I went old-tech and actually used the "email us" function on the website. I know, positively paleolithic.

I'll update with what/if I hear back.

This is now restricted to SPG Plats. For those unhappy about Marriott buying SPG, TAKE IT! I'm not particularly happy about this because it reduces my suite upgrade chances this next year, but if it results in additional Diamonds leading to a larger Hyatt footprint, it's a long term win.

CPRich, either PM the Hyatt Concierge on FT or email [email protected] Either should get you status matched.

I recommend acting fast; I don't think that this will be offered much longer.

They've been flooded with requests. There were IHG Plats trying to get in on the deal; I suppose there were even Wyndham and Club Carlson members requesting a match.
They've since restricted the Diamond match to only SPG Plats.

It won't be a good program any more if Hyatt is giving out Diamond status and DSUs to everyone and their dog.

In the Hyatt forum, there's a Best Western member waiting for response as well.

I'm wondering if there's a down side. I haven't had a Hyatt near a project site in years. And I have 1M SPG/MR points vs. 40K Hyatt, so I won't be vacationing with the family at a Hyatt.

Am I negating a future status match option by taking one now?
