The resort shuttle bus to and from the Rusutsu office in Sapporo city is free for hotel guests and charged for non-resort guests. Several departures in the morning from Sapporo city, returns in the late afternoon.

There is an additional, privately operated bus with departures throughout the day for a fee.

The Big Run bus from CTS must be reserved in advance and is not free.

If the photos on the website really show the rooms, the building has been completely renovated. Like so many hotels in Japan, this resort was stuck in the early 90s in just about everything (they even didn't have Wifi until 2 years ago!).
Excellent!
(Nonetheless, we're booked in the main building next year, which is simply better located for ski-in/out)

Just an FYI. I have been trying to book this hotel to no avail. Rates were available on the SPG site for about 5 hours on Saturday 5-November then nothing.

Rang the hotel and got some rediculous rates per person rather than for a room, but was advised by the person on the phone to book through the Rusutsu resort website to get special discounts.

I tried that whilst on the phone with the Westin Rusutsu and nothing came up, the lady then advised that the rooms on the website had sold out.

The conversation became a circular one from then on - needless to say I don't have a room and am still waiting for rooms to become available via SPG.

Tried SPG Platinum chat and said ring the hotel.

Not feeling the usual SPG Platinum love.

Is there a way to transfer to/from Kiroro resort without going back to Sapporo?

I called Kiroro tribute and they informed me there is a local company that organises a bus from kiroro to Niseko. Then from Niseko, it is a 30 minutes drive to Rusutsu. However, they said they couldn't book that as it is organised for the group tour... Confused... I am going to sort it out when I get there...

- Historically, Rusutsu resort next season reservations won't be open at this time; I doubt this has changed after the rebrand. Rates might not be loaded correctly.

- Approx. Dec 20 to Jan 10 is highest season there, with most expensive rates and restrictions (min stays etc.) of the season. 700 USD could be serious.

There's no lounge. Breakfast is available at the open restaurants at the entire resort, including the Westin's main restaurant.
