This seems like as good a place as any to post this. I had a stay at an Aloft hotel along with my wife and daughter. I didn't look until I got up to my room, but instead of the little breakfast vouchers that I typically receive (two if w/ my wife in the past) I received two coupons for $7.00 each...which were valid 3/12/2015 to 3/12/2016...they expired three months ago. So I returned to the desk to ask why they had changed from the little folded breakfast voucher, and was given two of them which were left blank. In the morning when we got breakfast, the desk agent asked if it would be a room charge and I said that I had the platinum coupon to use. He said that 1. it was good for up to $10 and 2. it was good for the platinum member only. I pushed back a bit and he ended up taking both of the coupons I had which even if valued at $10 each more than covered the meal.
Is the above consistent with the T&C? Does each hotel have latitude to apply the benefits as they see fit?
I've sent an email to the hotel to ask for clarification on how they apply the benefit. This is a leisure stay and the breakfast is a pretty big deal to us considering there are nicer hotels at about the same price point right in the same area, but they do not have complimentary breakfast.

Not if it is only for the Platinum member and not another guest staying in the same room.
This might be a better spot to post questions about this item, but it's a free country.

Thanks William. I'll go pop over to that other thread.
