Your first Starwood hotel stay
Not many people will share my first Starwood Hotel stay, it's Sheraton Bahrain.

Mine was the Sheraton Anaheim. Before we were married, my wife and I were in college in San Diego and took a weekend trip up to Disneyland. We reserved a trip through the now defunct Magic Kingdom Club and the reservation agent recommended the Sheraton. We later returned on a subsequent trip and I joined SPG. Years later, I'm writing this from the Westin Kyoto. Good times.

Westin Madrid on our honeymoon. Probably we realized afterwards that we could collect the nights for something meaningful.

I count Vedema on our honeymoon as our first stay. While my husband was checking in, I saw the SPG flyer on the counter and said I wanted to sign up.
Prior to that I think I had stayed at the Sheraton Toronto once, but it was booked as some package and I had no clue about SPG back then.

I'd love to say Sheraton Hong Kong (Towers Deluxe Harbour View Room), but technically, it was shortly preceded by a Day Room in Sheraton Munich Airport

Long before there was Starwood, as a kid traveling with parents, probably a Sheraton in Eastern Canada at about age 5.
As a young adult, the earliest I can specifically remember would be a Sheraton in Philadelphia during my last year of graduate school. There may have been a Westin before that or a hotel that has since left Starwood. Apparently I had both Westin and Sheraton frequent sleeper cards before SPG was created.

Wow, this is going deep into the mists of my memory. I think it was the (former) Westin in Cebu, Philippines in the late 1980s or the (former) Sheraton Manila in the mid 1990s. I'm just not certain whether either Westin or Sheraton were part of Starwood at those times.
Anyway, nice to see that Starwood is returning to the Philippines over the next few years.
