Platinum Gift - $25 cert or magazine subscription
I was Platinum the last two years and hit the 50 nights a couple weeks ago. Not sure if anyone else have received this, but wanted to let you know to look out. Just got this email from SPG:
Subject: Good news: Platinum status and an elite gift, all yours.
You traveled. You stayed. You conquered. Congratulations, and welcome to Platinum status with Starwood Preferred Guest®! You've earned extra benefits with every stay, and we look forward to welcoming you, elite-style.
To see all the Platinum benefits you've earned, check out spg.com/platinum.
In the meantime, let's celebrate. We're sure you'll agree that a move like this calls for a bonus reward. Take your pick: Choose either a $25 SPG® Award Certificate or a free one-year subscription to your favorite Condé Nast magazine.
Once again, congrats! We look forward to seeing you soon, and thanks again for traveling with SPG.

Mine was $25 or 1000 starpoints. (probably because the address on my SPG account is outside the US.)
Chose the points.

Got the same e-mail this afternoon, choice of magazine or $25 spg certificate (went with the $25).
As a data point, I have hit my 50 night plateau for the year as well.

It looks like the e-mail will be sent after reaching 25 stays/50 nights in 2012.

I was platinum in 2010 and re-qualified in 2011, but didn't get a gift in 2011. 2012 is my first time getting a platinum gift.

Nothing for me either or valid for me using link. I think I need to get some more stays for 2012. Did over 75 last year, but nothing.

Link allowed me to fill out my info but then said I wasn't eligible. I am Platinum but haven't hit 25 stays/50 nights yet this year so assuming that's why. Guess I'll just keep waiting!
