This wiki compiles Starwood properties close enough to hotel-hop on foot. Criteria:
  • "walkable" = 1/3 mile (550m) or less separation on foot (not as the crow flies), or
  • free shuttle bus (distance < 1500m)

To see a map of the properties in a given location, click on the city name below, find the applicable properties in the list, and then click the "Map View" tab and look for the corresponding pushpin number. Note that the pushpins are often inaccurately placed and should not be relied upon for walking directions. To determine the exact location of a hotel, use
  1. directions on the individual property's website (typically under the Local Area menu)
  2. the Bing "aerial view" or "bird's eye" tab
  3. Google Maps satellite view or street view
  4. your phone to call the front desk
(Note that even Bing and Google Maps may be out of date, e.g., show a vacant lot where a new property has been recently constructed.)

All distances are good-faith estimates only. Where known, significant changes in elevation are noted. Please feel free to contribute additions or corrections. (If you make significant revisions, such as adding or deleting properties, please post a short note in the thread summarizing the change.)

Thanks -- but don't you mean that you went Sheraton -> Westin -> 4P from north to south?

(Post #1 updated to this point in thread. Thanks again, all.)

Absolutely walkable.

I don't understand your logic, though. Why is a hotel bus required in order to make it walkable?

I think it's the other way around - a car cannot be required. That means a drive is only valid if there's a shuttle.

I have never been, but those two hotels in Greece should be close enough to walk:

LC The Romanos
Westin Costa Navarino

These hotels are my wish list to stay near future.

@beltway I'd say the door-to-door distance between the receptions at the two Haidian properties in Beijing is <200m (1/8th mile for metrically challenged).
