I am necro-ing this topic for a good reason.

The hotel is stated to open in 9 days. Inventory and SPG cat still unreleased lol.

We are proud to announce that the Aloft Riyadh is now part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts. The hotel is accepting reservations as of today, July 11, 2016, for future dates on or after July 15, 2106. Please note that since this is a new activation, we will not expect availability on the web until later today.

SPG Category 4.

Why is this a Cat 4? Abu Dhabi's Aloft is Cat 2. I realize the location is good but that is seriously pushing it.
