Q3 Promotion Thread?
Did I miss the Q3 promotion thread or are my search skills just lacking?
I'm looking to book about 8 stays over the next couple of months and wanted to make sure I was registered for any promotion before I started booking them.
Thanks
Josh

Well as the current promo goes on until the end of July, you haven't missed anything yet.
We'll probably find out about the next promo later on in July. Until then, there's nothing to do except wait.

Q1 - Jan - Mar
Q2 - April - June

Promos have been for irregular periods for a while now. Last year there was no promo for August so you may have to wait until September for the next one.

Starwood don't operate Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4 promotions. They operate promotions that may last for a quarter, but they don't tie up exactly to quarter periods. It is just the FT community that seems obsessed with labelling them with Q1, Q2 etc labels.
Details on the current promo is here:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starw...-dec-19-a.html
Also, the thread at the top of this forum has details of most of the known promos at any given time and is regularly updated: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starw...os-promos.html
Hope this helps.

Well, I guess I'll start the speculation / request portion of the event:
Starwood - here's what I'd really like - points, and lots of them. No double stays / double nights stuff, no free nights (doubt it would be this as that's what we're getting now.) Just sweet, sweet points that I can redeem on my own time.
My personal favorite was one from back in the Winter of 2007 - Spring of 2008. I can't remember all the details exactly, but it was something like up to 10,000 points per 4 or 5 stays per property. It was a nice one and I managed to really build up a war chest on that deal.
Here's to wishing...

And maybe the SPG marketing folks who used to sometimes use the following URL for registration?

I take your point though - they certainly help fuel the misconception with URLs like that.

I think I was just invited to that promotion on Facebook!
Seriously, however, the Nights Advance was a good incentive last year.
Even though I'll have made 25 stays THIS YEAR without the carryover nights, being able to build the cushion in the fall kept me loyal to Starwood after reaching Platinum in 2009. It is a good hedge against uncertainty, with little downside for Starwood in the case of its most-frequent travelers.

Book away and register when/if something comes out before your travel dates.

Last year's final Q promo (or was that 2008? I forget) was awesome. The one where you had 8 choices and decided which one was best for you.
SPG - Bring that back!
