Nope, used Amex for 2 orders and MC for 2 orders.

(All 1 qty orders, so don't get mad thinking we order 5x )

Any more SPG coming up, Lurker? Or was this the only one? Just dropped 500 quid. Would gladly drop more.

Managed to buy one 7000 and three 4000s =19000 spg points for $280 in all.
Worth about 24000 airline points with the 5k/20k bonus, so I gues not too bad for one free ticket within USA

By the way had to use three different AMEX cards - it rejected one card after two buys as apparently one card can be used once a day only.

It's looking like FT crushed this deal. Maybe we should post here what we all got (the next poster can keep a running total -- conga) so we can see what % of the deal was purchased by FTers.

What we got:

2 x 7,000 package
2 x 4,000 package

Running Totals:

10,000 pckg:
7,000 pckg: 2
4,000 pckg: 2

Well, I had a momentary technical glitch and had to settle for 5 x 4,000 offer.

While that's fine for me, I think SPG made a huge mistake here by allowing each contestant to buy 5 prizes. It's the principle of the multiple ice cream sundaes. One makes you happy -- five doesn't make you 5 times happier.

If everyone had been only allowed to buy 1, 5 times more people would be happy.

Won't the better thing have been to just have more packages available?

Of course. But I assume SPG didn't want to sell that many points at this price.
