Missing your Platinum Amenity points? List the hotel here

Given the high interest in the thread "Lurker - Help! Get the Platinum 500 problem fixed! It is ridiculous" I thought it would be a good idea if we started a thread to list the properties that have "trouble" automatically posting the 500 Platinum Amenity points.

This can give fellow FTers a heads up that they will have to chase the points at the following properties.

Here is a list of properties confirmed to have trouble posting the 500 points. I'll try to update this post as more properties are identified.

US

District of Columbia
W Washington DC - DC (award)

Maryland
Westin Baltimore Airport - Baltimore (paid)

North Carolina
Sheraton 4 Points - Charlotte (paid)

Nevada
Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas (paid)

Europe

Switzerland
Arabella Sheraton Seehof - Davos (Award Stay)

In my experience, there are properties that occasionally miss the amenity but not 100% of the time. Not sure if it depends on the person checking you in.. or the hotel's system.

Still, is there any benefit to making a list of these properties? One quick email to SPG solves this w/o hassle...

I think it would be beneficial as well to denote if the missing points occur on a paid stay, award stay, or both as I've found that unless there are incidental charges, the bonus points never post on an award stay regardless of the property.

I haven't missed any 500 point amenities at all, but did miss the 250-point amenities at these properties:
  • Aloft Austin at the Domain (paid)
  • Four Points by Sheraton San Antonio Northwest (three paid stays)
  • Element Houston Vintage Park (paid); a later stay did post the amenity

All of these opened recently.

Coincidentally (I think), those particular Element and Aloft properties also weren't treated as SPG spending by AmEx.

I agree. This list is very misleading and does not provide a service. I recently stayed at one of the properties on this list and my 500-point Thank You Amenity posted with no problem whatsoever.

+1

Sheraton San Jose, 3 of 3 this past quarter posted when regular points posted on paid stays

PH Las Vegas, 2 of 2 this past quarter posted when regular points posted on paid stays.

I think that the only time it was NOT posted was when I was "flip-floppy" about what amenity I wanted (did not choose at check-in) and forgot to tell the front desk that I wanted the points...YMMV

I had repeated stays at one property that would without fail promptly post the 500 points Plat Amenity after each stay.

Too bad that the aforementioned clockwork regularity and promptness did not extend to the posting of the correct amount of points arising from the bills. Had to go through SPG each and every time for those.

500 point platinum amenity did not post for award stay at W New York (Lexington Ave).

Thread is a waste of time, as is the other cited. Yes, it would be nice if bonus points and Diamond amenity posted all the time -- but they don't.

Sometimes posts automatically, sometimes not. Big deal.

Just call SPG for missing points. Same with Hyatt.

You know what is missing -- they don't give you any hassle.

Folks, if you don't find value in a particular thread, just ignore it. Clearly some FT members have significant energy about this issue and if they feel that drawing more public attention to the recurring situations might be helpful, they are entitled to do so. Just as you are entitled to decide not to read it.

So let's please not take this thread further off-topic by debating its merit. As they say, 'just vote with your feet.'

I actually find SPG to be pretty good about this...I voted infrequently.
Now if someone could start this on Hyatt...I RARELY get any of the bonuses posted there...
