Star Alliance C segments to experience
Im going to MEL to see my St Kilda Saints take home the premiership and im going on a ex-KEF CRWSTAR2. Im in sort of a rush on the way there and back but I've got a few days to play with.
What Star Alliance C segments do you recommend in terms of unusual planes and/or seats/service + other things that make them interesting?
These new planes comes to mind:
SQ 77W
SQ A388
LX A333
NZ B772
TK B77W
AC B77L
NH 77W
...im sure there are others to try. Any comments welcome!

I prefer NZ 747 to 777 in business.
SQ A345 is a good option - ultralong flight on great seats & service. There is a surcharge though
If you have to fly UA make sure it is their new C.

- NZ 747 is a good tip. What routes do they use that for? LHR-LAX i suppose?
- How do I see if a UA flight is new C with Expertflyer?

Depends on the dates (seasonal variations). Sometimes LHR-LAX has 747 and LHR-HKG has 777, and sometimes the other way around. Other routes with 747 are LAX, SFO (sometimes), YVR (sometimes), BNE & MEL (trans-Tasman depends on loads & on-time arrival at AKL from longhaul whether 747 or 777).

Sitting in TG F lounge in HKG!
I tried TK70 IST-HKG on 77W last night and it was very good. Nice seat + impressive food but the service was not 100%. Flight was less than 50% full in C.
I've booked the AC 77L SYD-YVR and LX A333 on JFK-ZRH in two weeks.
LH A346 was nice on FRA-TLV and im doing HKG-BKK in TG F in 30 minutes.
Mrs Bjornstrom can't understand my hobby but im enjoying myself!

That's funny , I was about to post exactly the opposite - I prefer the feel of the cabin in the 777 , the old style overhead bins in the 744s make it feel more cluttered/cramped to me . Do you mind if I ask why you prefer the 744s ?

Service was top notch and food/wine also - like most flights on NZ!
