*A carriers in Dublin
Interesting article in today's Irish Times regrading the future of *A carriers at Dublin airport and the new T2
Will Lufthansa move into T2 when it opens? “It is still under discussion where Lufthansa will finally be located following the opening of T2. In the future, the aim would ultimately be to have Star Alliance carriers under one roof at Dublin airport.”

I can think of a fantastic place for all the *A carriers in Ireland: New terminal, already built, relatively empty, they could practically dictate their terms and get away with it. ORK.
Just a few runway issues and the whole "three hour train from Dublin", but who wants to go to Dublin anyway?

Who currently serves DUB? BD, LH, SK, US, TK, LX year round and AC and OS seasonally - and let's not forget JP! There's also a persistent rumour about TP (though that's being doing the round for about 2 years now...). CO will be joining the fold later in the year. JK's presence is just charter work, AFAIK.
I'd be thrilled if the MUOR strategy was implimented in DUB - there'd be a brand new *A lounge to replace the dingy Diamond Club lounge. LH is the key decision maker here, as they will directly control the movement of LH, BD, OS and LX. SK will surely follow suit, as always.
As I understand it, TATL flights will all depart the new terminal, so, I'm guessing US and CO are already signed up a for a move, along with AC for as long as that lasts.
All that being so, TK might be very lonely if they stayed in the Ryanair pier by the Garda station.

But apart from my constant desire for some *A connections down this side of the country (and oh, would it ever be enough to make RE a regional member), it would actually be great to see some kind of organized *A presence in DUB. Take EI and move them all over to T2, then get Area 14 for *A so we don't have to fight the massive queues generated by the charters and FR, and it would be great. And yeah, a *A lounge replacing both the BD and Anna Livia would be great, although even a refit of one of them would be fine. Number One Dublin, if you will.
And if the terminals are connected, couldn't it still work if all the TATL flights are off in Pier E?

Aer Arann as a regional *A member would be superb.
Cork is sadly missing any connection to *A which Aer Arann would be able to fill easily - feeding more of Ireland into *A.
I doubt Dublin would get a *A lounge as no carrier is based here and Dublin is not a major city in Europe - with bmi the main *A carrier in terms of frequency in to and out of Dublin it makes sense for them to man the lounge here.
What I really would like to see as a SK*G is Fast Track Security near Area 9 opened up for SK*G (and even better - for all *G) as it is currently only open to SAS Business and Economy Extra passengers only - this is all the more important for early flights as the queue at security can be a really long nightmare sometimes - almost missed a flight some months back due it even though I arrived in good time.
