Transfer in HKK
Next week I am travelling through HKG on my way to Bali. I have preused the handy-dandy *A Reference Guide linked here and have a feel for the airport, but I just wanted to confirm.
I'll be arriving AC, and trasferring onward on SQ (coach). Which lounge will I use? It appears there is an SQ lounge, but will that be near the gate?
Also, is there the possibility I can have a shower when I arrive? I do not plan to check any bags.
For the return flight, it appears that the TG lounge is closest to the AC gates. Is that true?
Convenience to gates notwithstanding, are any lounges distinctly better, or any to be avoided?
Thanks for the recommendations!

I assume you mean HKG (Hong Kong) not HKK (Hokitika).
If you have *G status (or RCC paid membership) then you can use SQ lounge (near the gates they use) or TG and UA lounges at the other end of the terminal. All 3 lounges have showers. If you don't have *G status then no lounge access flying departing flight in economy.
SQ lounge is worst of the three, TG is best.

Thanks, Kiwi. Indeed, it is Hong Kong and I did not "preuse" the manual. Fortunately, I do have AC Elite (and those arrival showers are a big reason to keep that status).
Thanks also about the lounge tip: I'll try TG first, and hope they do not nudge me to SQ!

The lounges aren't arrival lounges - they are for departures (ie airside). When you arrive at HKG only a same day departing ticket or boarding pass will give access airside. If you are just transitting HKG then no problem using the lounge(s) before your onward flight, but they won't be available to you if you are stopping over in HKG (eg overnight or longer) until the day of departure.

Gotcha, thanks! I did not know there were no arrivals lounges there and realized earlier that I may be SOL since I am overnighting. Alas, there are also no Yotels in HKG.

I have the same question but with different circumstance. Let's say I arrived in HKG at 6 am with a *A carrier in C with *G status. Go through immigration to meet a group. Then go back through security into air side and continue my trip with a non *A carrier. Would I still be able to use the *A lounges with my "same day" *A boarding pass? Any help is appreciated.
