*A timetable error msg

I am getting the foll error msg:

"This City Pair is served, but the flight server did not find any logical connections (13 January 2010)"

Does that mean, I can not redeem this route?
If I have to break this route up, then how can I know the shortest/direct route between this pair?

Maybe if you tell us the cities, someone can help you...

My guess is MLE and DEL?

Be aware that the *A website does not work properly with Safari (web browser based on webkit) and yields many bugs including the one you describe.

Safari is now cross platform - both Mac and PC can use it.

Fortunately Firefox has no issues with the *A website.

BTW, did you mean AMD and AMS? This might be why your having issues.

13 Jan 2010 is a Wednesday.

The only *A flight out of AMD takes you to SIN, Tuesdays and Saturdays only. From SIN there are direct daily flights to JNB.

Both with SQ.

Ahmedabad (AMD), India to JNB.

I can get the route in a number of ways but how do I know which is the shortes/direct route allowed for redemption?
I can not possibly be expected to calculate the mileage of all the possible routes myself and decide!

I get the same error msg even when looking for flights between Jan 12 to Jan 19.

Or should I be looking at AMD-SIN, SIN-JNB?
If, there was another *A airline, say LH, then the routing would be AMD-FRA, FRA-JNB.

In that scenario, how do I know which route would be allowed or is it that I can choose whichever i like?

Fair enough, although as you posted on the BD forum, AMS was the obvious choice!

I suspect SQ would be the best way to get between the two points with a BD redemption, so that's 50K BD miles for a Y redemption (zone 10 - zone 6).

If you take a local flight AMD-BOM, you can catch the non-stop BOM-JNB on SA.

I suspect FRA would not be allowed and SIN would be the preferred option as it is more direct (it's approx 1000 miles shorter).

Use the following website to help you calculate distances:

AI is not yet part of *A so cannot be used. You can only redeem BD miles on *A metal using the metal code (and not a codeshare).

Another option is to use your BD miles for a QR award (Qatar Airways), although your looking at 25K + 70K for an economy reward.

https://www.flybmi.com/bmi/src/html/...pendmiles.html

More miles, but significantly less travel time and of course they have a good long haul product (although it might not be so great on the AMD-DOH sectors).
