Redeeming Miles with a Stop Over
Hi all,
I think I know the answer however, I would like somebody who is probably more in the know out there about this to confirm my thought. I would like to redeem my USAir miles for a flight from CGK to IND. The plan is to stop at SFO and spend however many days there before continuing my journey to IND. Then on the way back, the same process takes place. I will fly back from IND to SFO and spend 2 days there before flying back to CGK. My question is I was wondering if I can redeem the miles as one redemption for Asia to North America. Meaning, do I have to redeem CGK - SFO (RT) for however many miles and then redeem SFO - IND (RT) for however many miles? So they are as 2 separate redemptions or if can get it in 1 take? I am thinking I might have to do 2 separate redemptions. But if anyone had any experience that is otherwise, that would be great since that means I'm saving miles.
Thanks in advance.

This would be better placed in the US Forum, as each *A carrier has different rules concerning redemptions with their miles.
US's rules are vague: "One en route stopover per itinerary is permitted for select international travel awards."

I don't think, though, that you're going to be able to use US miles and have a stopover both going and coming back in SFO. You could probably have ONE stopover there.
