Considering making *G in another FFP.

I am currently *G ( LH Sen). I am considering earning miles in another * program and will most likely make *Gold in a few months.

My question is if I will still have lounge access, * Gold check-in and other perks even i choose to accumulate the miles where I do not have any status? This will be relevant until I have earned Gold.

I guess I wont have any status recognition on board and that will pretty much rule out any possibility of an upgrade....(not that it happens very often even I have recognition)

I tried to search for an answere but did not find anything.

Thanks

You should still have lounge access and priority check-in since you're *G already.

Yes, and some airlines have both FQTS and FQTV fields so you can enter your M&M number in the FQTS field to get *G benefits while you earn in another program.

I do this all the time and make it a habit of showing both cards when I check in and tell them specifically I want the miles on the non-G card. Some places require a lounge invitation card to enter so in seeing my *G card they'll issue that at the check in counter. Just last week I was on a SQ flight in Y and I showed both cards and the agent was typing in the number of my Gold card into the computer. I asked him to be sure he wasn't changing my number for miles and he assured me he wasn't. At the gate he called me to the counter and presented me with a business boarding pass and said I was upgraded on the basis of my *G card. So sometimes it really pays to show them both cards.
