Access to lounge in China
Hi, I am a Premier Executive member with United and I will be flying on Shanghai Airlines (*A member) next week from PVG to Xian (within China). Will I be allowed to use the lounge?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Shanghai airlines has a very nice lounge at the international part of terminal 2 which Shanghai airlines uses. I havn't tried the domestic part of terminal 2 yet, but I would assume they have a lounge there also which you then can use with your *G card.

Star Alliance Gold card holders and one guest, have access to any lounge around the world that is identified with a Star Alliance Gold lounge sign when departing on a Star Alliance flight, no matter which class of service they travel in.
So if the lounge is marked as a Star Alliance Lounge, a UA 1P / *G should have access. The issue will be if the domestic lounge is so marked.

If there is a lounge, you should have access to it:

United Airlines' Premier Executive and Premier Executive 1K customer and US Airways' Chairman Preferred and Gold Preferred customers have access to U.S. domestic United Red Carpet Club and US Airways Club locations only when they present a ticket or boarding pass for a same-day international flight.
Hey wait a minute, does that mean when I leave on any flight from SEA that I can take the train to the South Satellite and get into the SAS lounge?

However I think you can still try to get into the lounge. Some Chinese airlines have different policies than UA. Some allow their gold member to use their lounge for free, no matter international or domestic.
