Interlining on several separate tickets
In several weeks I'll be coming back to Toronto from Hong Kong while making stopovers and making connections at several airports. With this I am holding several separate tickets. On one of the journey, I'll be going BKK-SIN-ZRH-GVA. BKK-SIN-ZRH on SQ on one ticket while ZRH-GVA on LX is on another ticket. I don't think SQ in BKK will have any problems checking my bags all the way to GVA if I show them my LX ticket. But will they also be able to issue my ZRH-GVA BP? But just in case they can't for whatever reason (i.e. ignorant check-in agent) and I have to re-check in with LX in ZRH will I have enough time to catch my connecting flight. The SQ flight I'll be taking arrives ZRH at 8:35 pm and the flight to LX leaves at 10:35 pm.
And then after a couple days in GVA, I'll have to take LX back to ZRH and then connect to an AC flight ZRH-YYZ. In this case GVA-ZRH is on one ticket and the AC ZRH-YYZ is on another separate ticket. When I check in with LX in GVA that day early in the morning and show them my AC ticket, will they (LX) be able to tag my bags to YYZ and issue the ZRH-YYZ boarding pass or do I have to re-check in at ZRH again?
The 2 SQ sectors will be flown in F, the two LX sectors will be flown in Y, and the one AC sector will be flown in J.
Sorry for these bundle of questions as it has been a long time since I last made flight connections at ZRH and not sure what the interlining agreements are between SQ->LX & LX->AC when holding separate tickets.

Luggage should not be a problem and the connection time in ZRH is fine as well. You might have an issue with airlines issuing boarding passes from a different ticket.

I'll piggy back on this thread.
Similar situation: BKK-SIN on LX, SIN-LAX on United 12 hours later (but next morning).
I'm sure getting bags sent over will not cause a problem, but how do I get a BP as checkin for UA's flight generally doesn't begin until the wee hours of the morn. Id like to stay airside, but I can't get into the *A lounge without a BP so what are my options?

If it is same ticket then you might be able to get the SIN-LAX BP in BKK (depending on whether or not the UA flight is open for remote check-in). If on separate tickets then no chance to get the BP until transfer desk or landside check in opens for the UA flight at SIN.

Since UA is now (supposedly) allowing international 24 hour OLCI could I check in before leaving BKK and attempt to get my printed BP airside in Changi?
It is completely on separate tix.

Not unless you can PYOBP. At SIN you would need someone at transfer desk to have access to UA's system, which would not normally be available until a few hours before departure.

On the same general topic, I've got a flight to Melbourne from Dublin via BKK, and coming back the same way. There are 2 booking references on the electronic ticket email; one for the SAS (2 legs outbound, 3 back) and 1 for Thai (final leg outbound).
I'm assuming that because I have 17 hours in BKK on the way out, I will have to pick up the bags even if there is a transit hotel airside particularly as I'm changing airline?
On the way back, its SAS all the way, so there should be no problem.

You shouldn't need to collect bags at BKK. As airlines use different CRS they sometimes may require their own PNR. Multiple PNRs does not mean multiple tickets, and does not force bags to be collected and redeposited.

Can anyone recommend where to get those zzzzzs in BKK airport environs? I see the transit area facility is not bookable, and I don't want to spend the earth on a hotel. Is it normal to have availability on arrival (apart from touts
)?Part of my 'problem' is that I'm silver BD at present, travelling with SAS in H (Y equivalent I believe), so the lounges will be out of bounds in Copenhagen and BKK. CPH is too short a transfer to worry about, and one of the easiest airports to navigate anyway.
