*G lounge access rules

I'm flying business on QR and it seems that they are only providing access to the Virgin Lounge for departure and not arrival. When I get to IAD, should I have access to the RCC in IAD based on the *A Gold rules, even though I'm arriving on a non-*A carrier but departing on a *A carrier to a domestic destination?

Based on the letter of the rules below, it seems that I should be allowed access to the RCC in IAD.

from http://www.staralliance.com/en/trave...s/lounges.html.

Star Alliance Gold card holders and one guest, have access to any lounge around the world that is identified with a Star Alliance Gold lounge sign when departing on a Star Alliance flight, no matter which class of service they travel in. Just look for the Star Alliance Gold sign outside the lounge and present the ticket for your same-day Star Alliance flight, your boarding pass and your frequent flyer programme card featuring the Star Alliance Gold logo. Guests must enter the lounges with an eligible Star Alliance Gold member and must depart on a Star Alliance member airline, but may travel on a different flight.

United Airlines' Premier Executive and Premier Executive 1K customer and US Airways' Chairman Preferred and Gold Preferred customers have access to U.S. domestic United Red Carpet Club and US Airways Club locations only when they present a ticket or boarding pass for a same-day international flight.

The key words are DEPARTURE lounges.
As a general rule it is easier to work on the basis there are no arrival lounges.

If you are a *G of any program other than UA or US you will have access. Otherwise, there you won't as UA doesn't care about your QR flight.

It's poorly worded but to get lounge access on the basis of same-day international flight requires that flight to be on *A.
