TAM going *A
Just got off an Egypt Air flight and their in-flight magazine says Continental, Air India & TAM joining *A although no time frame listed.

Well, if and when they are, they aren't telling their GAs anything. I fly TAM every month, making a short hop from GIG to VIX and back after getting to GIG on UA and I asked on Aug 5 and the GA didn't know a thing about it. Wish they would join *A, as even though it is a short hop for me, doing it every month would add up to some EQMs. Might also give me some flexibility in routing to obtain better connection times, yet still get those EQMs.

Even before they joined *A, Egypt Air's in-flight magazine was right on the exact date that Turkish Air joined *A and now as a member themselves I would have no reason not to believe them, but time will tell.

With Continental switching to *A in 2009 or the following year, perhaps Copa will follow. But otherwise, the options are limited. Avianca, anyone?
