Checking Award Availability on Star Alliance

Trying to check award availability online for a trip using UAL then Singapore Air, but ual.com won't do this. Is there a site to go to that will allow you to check this award availability without having to call ual?

A simple search of this (*A) forum will reveal exactly what you're after. Hint: the secret shortcut is 'ANA'.

cheers,

Henry

ANA is useless - it might show you free seats, but you wont be able to book them with UA.
You would have to call UA to find free seats

The ANA tool is not useless. While you certainly cannot book MP award tickets through it, it saves a considerable amount of time on the phone with UA as you can see what other *A programs would be able to book and then have the UA agent check that against availability in their system.

Absolutely correct. Check on ANA and then you can provide very specific information to UA when you call. You will not always be able to get the open seats due to some blocking but it is a very good starting point and guide.

As pointed out, the ANA tool is not useless.

United Airlines, on the other hand, is a blot on the transportation landscape that should be euthanized without delay.

Erm ... yes, looking for free seats is exactly what the OP says he wants to do. So how is this 'useless' ???

Which is possibly in the making, hence the arrival of CO in *A, new agreements between CO and AC... It looks like UA's end is on the radar screen.
