ANA *A Award Availability Tool Down

It looks like ANA is doing site-wide maintenance for the next day or so, rendering most functions unavailable, including the *A award search function.

"We will be performing system maintenance according to the change of Terms and Conditions of the ANA Mileage Club on April 1, 2008.
Maintenance times will differ for each function.
All functions for International Flight Awards - Thursday of March 27, 2008 at 12 a.m. to Tuesday of April 1, 2008 at 9:30 a.m."
Here's hoping they don't drop the tool, like UA did, or "enhance" it to the point of unusability.

It certainly does represent a cost to NH to have a great number of members with 0 miles and to maintain the website.

Really the tool should be on *A website and accessible to any member of a *A program.

Still, it is a benefit for them. Every time a regular flyer wants to check for availability they immediately think "ANA" and go to their website, see their logo, their advertising etc.

And it's even better than before...you can now search for up to 12 segments at once (up from 4).^

First you have to join the ANA Mileage Club...it's free to join.

Once you have registered, click on 'Award Reservation' from the 'My AMC Account' section of the ANA homepage.

Was the "Connecting Flight" tab always there, under the initial flight results?
Click the [Connecting Flights] to see (check) all itineraries including connected flights.

Yes, branding wise it is a plus for them. I personally love them and would select them over any *A carrier. Is it related to my passion for Japan, my free Ana membership, my regular visit to their website, their monthly e-mail, or a combination of it all?

Question

How does one interpret the symbols vs. the color coding

ie.. it looks like the little circle says seats available, but the dark tan mean applicable.

Does the presense of a circle not mean there is an award seat available when its not colored dark tan? Or does it simply mean seats are available?

Thanks guys.

Gene
