CPSTAR Throwaway segment
I tried searching but couldn't find anything on this. The rules changed last year for the CPSTAR so that the US and Canada no longer count as one country (at least for itnerary purposes
) The fare out of the US right now is about $1700 cheaper than that out of Canada, so it pays to start there.
Has anyone any experience of throwing away the final segment? i.e. ticket to return to SFO via YVR, but not taking the final segment? Are they likely to go after you for a reprice?

Usually if oyu do not finish any of the Star RTW and CP, Star reserves the right to adjust your charges to the combined value of the one way tickets .. (this is buried somewhere in the rules ..
However, IF CA and US are considered one country then it doesn't matter bcs oyu can start and finish the trip in two different cities in the same country ...
But I am suprised the y are considered one country with two different prices.
