Best FF program?
This question might seem a little ambiguous; I'm looking for a good Star Alliance FF program to join. The obvious answer probably is "pick the FF program for the airline you fly the most" but that might not be the case for me...
I actually rarely fly the SA carriers. Skyteam just has better times to my destinations, so I tend to fly them more. In the near future, however, I will be flying US, SQ and LH.
Of the carriers, I have flown US Air the most (which isn't saying much) and they have the most Star Alliance routes to my home city, but I sort of consider them a "loser airline" with few destinations and routes overall, especially when compared with the other star carriers. Being an American, should I join US or UA? Should I join another international FF program?
Thanks!

BrianJ, welcome to the *A board.
About every two weeks this question is asked so if you just go back a few threads you will find plenty of information about this topic.
Have a read please and if you have further questions come back to us with some more details (how many flights, which class, are you after award flights, status, lifetime status etc.)
Have a look here:

Thanks for the response, and the link. It looks like I missed it when I went back through the forums...
Judging my previous threads and information, it looks like the best route is going to be UA. To answer your questions you have for me DownUnderFlyer:
How many flights a year (on a *A): Probably 2-4 roundtrip.
Class: Unless I get some great deal or someone else is willing to pay for me: Cattle Class
Award Flights: They're tempting, but I'm most interested in complimentary upgrades and status (though, because I don't fly Star enough, I doubt any program will offer it to me - but, one never knows. I may start flying Star more...and if that's the case, I'll have my United account to rack up the miles and get some status)
Thanks again!

As always, the devil is in the detail. With 4 overseas economy round trips per year you might get to *Silver status. Just be aware that many *A FFP will not give you any mileage in certain economy booking classes. So when flying SQ have a look at your booking classes to avoid disappointment.
