IAD-DAC advice

It looks like I may be going to Dhaka (DAC) in June or July on what I hope will be a C fare. If I am in paid C, it seems as if I need to take 3 flights from IAD to get there. The transatlantic flight will be on UA (since it is paid by the US govt). What advice on the second flight FRA-DUB. How do LH C and Emirates C compare (Emirates doesn't seem to have flat beds--I don't know whether LH will have them on this route)? And do I get any fare bonus for MP on either LH or Emirates (or do I need to ask UA or the UA forum)? [The third flight will have to be on Emirates unless I go out of the UA system, which I don't want to do.]

Thanks much.

I presume you mean DXB (Dubai) not DUB (Dublin).

You could also go the longer way on *A on TG from BKK or SQ from SIN - both use regional product to/from DAC.

Oops, yes, to Dubai, not to Dublin (though that would be a nice trip as well).

Fly IAD-SIN/BKK-DAC. UA across the pacific, nice TG or SQ service

The UA codeshares with LH also qualify as UA & LH revenue share. So you could fly IAD-FRA-CCU in great LH C (flat, but angled bed with AVOD) and then take an adventure flight CCU-DAC with Biman or IA.

Another option is UA from IAD-KWI (Kuwait) and then onwards on the TG KWI-DXB flight. Then you can take Emirates from DXB-DAC. This involves two stops, UA metal for quite a distance. I can't speak for the transfer in KWI but the connection times are reasonable.

Going through BKK would be the cheapest option and will also minimize your time in regional C since BKK-DAC is only about a 2 hour flight. The only caveat is, that you will have to spend the night in BKK due to the connection times which in my book is an advantage.

Wow, that's great. I've never done SQ so that sounds great. Flying to DAC from SIN won't work (UA helped me verify this), but on the way home it sounds doable. Two other questions: How good is TG? And the Star Alliance gives 2 itineraries for SQ on the way back. One is about 26 hours with one SQ flight and 2 UA flights, the other is about 30 hours with 2 SQ flights and one UA flight (PEK-IAD). Is the extra 4 hours worth the 2 SQ flights (remembering that I have not done SQ before)? Thanks to all.

SQ and TG business class will blow you away if you have only done American carriers so far. I would go for the extra SQ 4h trip.
