Pay for lounge access??

Is there a star alliance airline where you can pay to get into the lounge, like a yearly fee and then use it at singpore airlines lounges?

Singapore don't let you pay for a Qantas/red carpet club style membership.. its all on points

You already mentioned it - Red Carpet Club membership gives access to SQ lounges when flying *A.

Otherwise any *G status (except no access to SKL at SIN) will do.

Yes but I think you can only get Red Carpet Club Membership with points. I was told you can not buy the membership.

With QF you can pay to join the Qantas Club and the you have access to QF, AA, LAN and BA lounges is there an option like this with *A?

You can buy RCC membership. Perhaps you are getting confused with the offer for MP members to pay for it with miles instead of cash?

But bear in mind that you only have access to business lounges with most other airlines e.g. as a RCC member you can only access the LH Business lounges not the SEN lounges.

The RCC membership is quite expensive if you don't have UA status.

I think the Air Canada MLL membership is a lot cheaper.

It's expensive even if you do.

I just made a google search 'doha airport lounge' and tons of informations show up.

Reading some of the comments it looks like buying into any lounge is not wort it, you probably better spend your monney in a decent airport restaurant or a bar (a 4 hours layover, minus arrival and pre-departure/-boarding time doesn't look to be very long).

I got a Priority Pass (premium) with my Master Platinum Card (Annual fee : USD55) which I'll keep until I get the OZ *G.

I think it's the cheapest way getting lounge access.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, definitely. Amex Plat also gets you in there. I am surprised that a Mastercard does but it must be "special" with an annual fee.

You can even buy Priority Pass for $99 and up I think.

p.s. If you are UA 1K then you can get membership for $350 for husband and wife.... that's not outrageous for two people.

I think the airlines probably make quite a nice margin on those purchased memberships. The OP is probably better off looking at a Priority pass not a RCC membership.

It costs QAR90, which is closer to US$25. You can stay up to 6 hours. Ot you can go for the meet and greet service, with fast immigration or emigration for QAR 100. See here.
Be aware, though, that the Oryx lounge is rather basic: small and no alcohol, although they have some passable edibles (sandwiches and the like). Still, better than the public spaces in the terminal for sure.
