Yes, I got bumped off a very full IAD-CDG flight in upgraded C and put onto a BMI flight in C through Stansted connecting to AF in F to CDG. Got there within 3 hours of our originally scheduled arrival time, better rested, better fed and $400 richer.
This was probably 2-3 years ago, however, and I know things are always tightening up... not to say it couldn't get done.

C is pretty nice compared to E+. And one day additional vacation in Chicago isn't that bad
The only mad thing at this story was that I was told to pick up my baggage at a special counter. Had to wait 5 (!!) hours while always asking/complaining about my bags. I was everytime told, yes, they'll be unloaded and I have to wait. The plane cannot start while my bags are on board. Wait, wait, wait. After 5 hours I was told, my bags are in the original plane...
I'd to purchase a coat and some other small things but UA refused to be responsible for that. But having an additional day in ORD, flying in C (with C miles earned!), getting the vouchers.....what did I want to have more?
