What * Alliance program should I use
Hi everyone. I am new to the board and would very much appreciate yo0ur advice.
I moved to Singapore a few months ago and started flying SQ
(am now PPS member). Every month or two I fly long distance business class (to Europe and Japan, mostly), some business economy (to the U.S.), and some cheapest possible (those I actually pay for).
I would like to maximize milleague accumulation to fly my family with me to TLV (most likely) perhaps to the U.S. Having been with KLM (now Flying Blue) for many years I became rather spoiled in terms of receiving significant milleague bonuses for top tier as well as for B. Class. SQ feels very stingy in this regard (only a 25% bonus). I am wondering what program I should use to maximize my chances of flying my family with me as often as possible with milleage based award tickets. An appealing possiblity would be to continue to fly SQ most of the time but be a member of a nother * alliance program (to double dip).
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi Optimizer and let me be the first to welcome you to flyertalk!
There is another thread here which will start to give you an idea of the variables involved in chosing the appropriate programme for you. Also, there is a useful search fuction - try entering "which programme" and see what turns up.

Welcome to Flyer Talk Optimizer
If you are flying a lot in first/business/full fare economy then the likes of bmi (BD) (need a european or US address) or Lufthansa (LH) would be good. Note that flying in paid first on SQ earns 200% (+ elite bonuses) on BD but 300% (no elite bonus) on LH.
I would definitely continue collecting PPS sectors even if crediting miles to another program. The PPS status is helpful if you fly SQ a lot - eg does wonders clearing SQ waitlists.
