IIRC, you'll only have access to the contract lounge at that time. No showers there that I can remember (but to be fair, I've never looked for them).

Hmm I looked at the AMS airport site, I saw there is a SQ lounge, and other contract ones. LH uses one contract, UA uses another.

OP wont have access to SQ lounge since it is in the non-schengen part of the airport. Flying on to MUC means only schengen area, so the 2 contract lounges are it. No showers. I'm not sure if AMS has pay showers (probably).

Not likely without the appropriate BP.

But sure he'll land in the non-Schengen part (coming from ORD). (I mean, what if he were connecting to a non-Schengen flight? He wouldn't have to go through immigration 'in' and then right back 'out' again.)

Why couldn't he go to the SQ lounge first, have his shower, and then go through immigration into the Schengen zone?

cheers,

Henry

Oh I like that!
I can check out the SQ and then the other 1 or 2 contract ones, just to see how they are.
Thanks.

They will let you through to the SQ lounge if flying within the Schengen. Yes you have to go through security again, as well as passport control, but with a 3 hr wait, they let me do it without hassle

The SQ lounge at AMS is fairly small and basic. Not sure when it opens, but with 1150 departure of SQ323 to SIN it should be open by 9am I would think.

The SQ lounge does not have a shower. It's really small and IMO not very nice compared to most other SQ lounges, but it's still nicer than the contract lounge.

The SQ lounge at AMS is open from 0750 - 1150 daily (and presumably later if the SQ flight departure is delayed).
