Have any Star Alliance carriers ordered the 777-200LR from Boeing? Are there any proposed plans to create some new ULH flights using this aircraft (e.g. FRA-SYD, ORD-SYD etc.)? Any thoughts on what routes would make the best use of this aircraft?

SQ, once a high chance to order 772LR carrier, decided to back off and not buying more A340-500 either.

AC has ordered them, along with 773ER's. One route touted by AC is YYZ-LAX-SYD, but nobody has heard more on that possibility since AC announced they were applying to the Oz Govt for permission to operate the route much earlier this year. Delivery of the 77's to AC commences in first quarter next year according to the latest news reports.
