Upgrade on SIA using *A miles

All,

I'm KL-SIN-LON bound next week on Economy. Can I use my *A mileage plus points to upgrade to next class of service? Not quite sure what my booking class is, but I think I've paid the most expensive economy tix. Thanks.

At the moment, UA MP miles can not be used yet to upgrade on SQ flights. I think it's only for LH (& the group), NH and TG flights.

CHICAGO, July 17th, 2006 - United Airlines is now the ninth Star Alliance member airline to offer Star Alliance Upgrade Awards, a unique Frequent Flyer Programme (FFP) that enables customers to redeem miles or points from their FFP accounts for one-class upgrades on scheduled flights operated by the participating Star Alliance member carriers.

Star Alliance, the airline network for Earth, is the first global airline alliance to offer such a mileage redemption option, which is now available to the (FFP) members of ANA (ANA Mileage Club), Asiana Airlines (Asiana Club), Austrian (Miles & More), LOT Polish Airlines (Miles & More), Lufthansa (Miles & More), Singapore Airlines (KrisFlyer), TAP Portugal (Victoria), THAI (Royal Orchid Plus) and United (Mileage Plus). More Star Alliance member carriers will begin to offer this product in the future.

Not yet. While UA Mileage Plus has joined *A mileage upgrade scheme, it cannot yet upgrade on SQ.

For reference in using UA miles, there is this thread:

*A Upgrade FAQ (UA Forum)

If you see post #32, it's still valid for limited airlines.

I wish I know when my Aeroplan Mileages can be used for SQ upgrades. Currently the best I can do is reedem them for free flights. And even with that, it is only restricted to RT......not allowed for open jaws, one ways.
