Trip advice

I would like to go to EWR-SIN-TOK-TPE-DEL-BLR-SIN-EWR in Business, can any one suggest if Star A is best and cheapest way to go? or should I fly EWR (Conti)-TOK-TPE-DEL (Cathy/TG via BKK)-BLR-SIN-EWR (SQ) is better?

I have to follow TOK-TPE etc sectors.

Unfortunately, no *A carriers fly to TOK (Torokina, Papua-New Guinea). Actually, I don't think Continental goes there either. You'll probably have to look for some smaller, regional airline, perhaps out of SIN or maybe Jakarta.

cheers,

Henry

Perhaps the OP can confirm he/she really meant Torokina (TOK), or perhaps might it have been Tokyo (NRT) ?!

Excellent point, Thai-Kiwi!

If indeed the OP means Tokyo instead of Torokina, the itinerary is almost an excellent candidate for a *A RTW. I see 3 problems, of which 2 are simple to solve and the 3rd less so:
  • One of the trips between NYC and SIN has to be trans-Atlantic and one has to be trans-Pacific. Easy solution is to use SQ's EWR-SIN as the trans-Pacific and SQ's SIN-FRA-JFK as the trans-Atlantic.

  • No *A flights from DEL-BLR; you'd have to pick that up as a separate ticket.

  • You're only allowed 1 stopover in each city, and SIN is listed twice on the OP's itinerary. If one of those visits is a transit (less than 24 hrs), then this is not a problem. If both are stopovers, though, it would not be a valid RTW itinerary. Only alternative I can think of is to replace one of the SIN stops with a nearby city (KUL?).

He can fly DEL-BLR on Jet Airways (9W) and BLR-SIN on (maybe) Jetstar Asia / Silk Air. Or maybe BLR - MAA - SIN on 9W. Works out pretty cheap that way.

OK, so that leaves EWR-SIN-TPE-DEL-BLR-SIN-EWR. Earlier you said

>I have to follow TOK-TPE etc sectors.

Did you mean that you have to follow them _in order_? As wideman suggested, this is a good possibility for a world-round -- if you have some flexibility.

cheers,

Henry
