*A and Amex-need help
This is new to me....
I am trying to figure out how to convert Amex points to Thai Air.
I can convert them to ANA at a ration of 1000 pts=1000miles.
Then what do I do? Does that mean I can then convert the ANA miles to Thai at the same ratio?
I am trying to get enough Thai miles to upgrade to business class on the JFK-BKK flight.
What steps do I take after transferring to ANA?

You can upgrade on Thai by using ANA's Star Alliance Upgrade Awards. It is based on mileage flown so for example 6000 mile segment requires 34,000 miles to upgrade to Business class (I haven't looked up how many miles it is JFK-BKK). Here is the link to ANA's page on the upgrades:

If you are looking to use AMES miles to fly on Thai you can move them to ANA or AC and then get an award ticket on Thai through either carrier.
