Custom *A Routing

Hello all,

If I wanted to use UAL *A miles to customize award tickets on multiple airlines, is that possible to do if the routes have better options? I will give an example.

I want to fly next year as follows:

LAX - FRA - FLR on Lufthansa as my outbound flight.

My return will be ATH - ZRH - LAX on Swiss.

I want to do this in first class and I expect it will be around 100k miles to do this.

I guess the help I am asking for is, 1st is this possible to request these different airlines since Lufthansa offers cleaner routing LAX - FRA - FLR and ATH - FRA - LAX. And, if so, what is the best strategy for getting someone who will help me with booking my routing this way?

Thanks in advance.

Oh, and is it 330 or 335 days in advance to reserve?

I'm not sure I understand your problem, but I can say this:

Your proposed routing is perfectly OK.

The real problem will be finding MP *A F award seats on ANY routing in on your desired dates and carriers.

Also, in order to make it a 100k miles award, you better act swiftly, as the higher award mileage levels (aka "enhancement") will kick in this October.

Finally, this is a question for the MP forum, so I'd recommend moving it there in order to get more elaborate responses.
